Hanging it · well

Center the artwork 57 inches from the floor — gallery height, where the eye naturally rests. Most art is hung too high; this single habit fixes it.
Over furniture
Leave 6–8 inches between the frame and the top of a sofa or console, and keep the piece near two-thirds the width of what sits below it.
